Your rock is naturally occurring limestone quarried down in Kansas. These are not made from poured concrete. Limestone does contain glass seams that can be mistaken for cracks. These will appear as a pencil mark that may discolor with moisture. Limestone does also contain other natural occurring fossils that may affect how the stone blasts during production. Your rock will also vary in size, shape and weight from those pictured as each rock is handmade and chipped by the manufacturer. Sizes listed therefor will be approximate.
The rocks are not sealed at all. They are just natural limestone and we leave it up to the customer as to how they'd like to seal them if so. At this time, we don't have a product that we recommend. They are fine to leave outside during the winter. We do recommend that your rock is installed on the base rocks so that the bottom can breathe. Smaller rocks need to be placed on landscape rock or fresh mulch so that the bottoms can breathe that way. If the bottoms of your custom rock cannot breathe and air out or dry out come winter, the moisture that they have absorbed will cause the rock to crack come winter.
I'm sorry, but if it's a custom product containing a name or something like that, there are no refunds or returns once they are picked up. Collegiate rocks or other stock type rocks that are not customized maybe considered for returns at The Rock Store's discretion within one month of purchase. It must be a product that The Rock Store can resell or it definitely won't qualify to be returned/refunded. Minimum payments on custom orders are nonrefundable once orders are placed into production. Full payments are nonrefundable once rocks are picked up.
Yes, we require either a minimum or full payment to process a custom rock purchase. This usually occurs right after your rock design is approved to place the order into production. Your minimum payment is nonrefundable once a design has been placed into production. Full payments on custom products are nonrefundable once rocks are picked up.
Rocks will need to be picked up at the 4609 18th Street address in Columbus. Free delivery is sometimes available if you're close to the route of our loads coming back from Kansas. Any other deliveries will be at an extra cost to the customer if desired and will depend on The Rock Store's availability to do a delivery at that time. Smaller rocks can be shipped but keep in mind that shipping costs generally start at around $50 depending on size so it gets expensive quick.
We can do some additional graphics and custom logos at times depending on the detail of the graphic or logo. We require a vector graphic in order to do them. We also use shutterstock.com for additional graphics. We generally search for black and white vector graphics. There will be a $10 per download charge for these. There also maybe an additional graphic design charge if it's not ready for our use. Download fees and graphic design charges will not be refunded if an order is cancelled.
The customer is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of their designs when it comes to spelling errors. The customer is the last line of defense when it comes to those errors. We try our best to ensure there are no overall errors with the design, but ensuring names are spelled correctly is up to the customer in the end. This also includes any punctuation errors. If a spelling error occurs, we will order a new rock with the corrected spelling. New rock will be ordered with a 20% discount applied but there will be no refunds or returns for the first rock that was ordered wrong with a misspelling on it.
Yes, we can do other fonts. If you have a specific font that you'd like to use, let us know and we can probably do it. We just have ours narrowed down to a handful, otherwise it's too hard for most folks to narrow it down.
Base rocks are just simply the two rocks that are under your main rock that are used to get the main rock up and out of your landscaping so that it can be seen. They also provide a way to keep your rock level. Our larger rocks also come with stainless steel pins which go between the base rocks and your main rock to help keep it from getting push/blown over. They also protect your rock far more from freeze/thaw conditions by helping the base of your main rock to get air and dry out so that they don't absorb moisture and crack during the winter.
The Rock Store of Nebraska has been in business since August of 2012. It is owned by Steven Keogh and he is the only person that you'll work with when ordering and purchasing your rocks. You're also welcome to check out our Better Business Bureau rating where we have been rated A+ since we first started.
Yes, we have helped many schools and nonprofits out with rock fundraisers in the past and are always willing to help others in the future. We simply split the profit with your fundraiser and we try to make it so that you are making as much or more than we do. We generally do one order once your sales are complete. We then get your rocks back to Columbus once they are completed and then it's up to you to pick them up from us and deliver them to the individuals that purchased them. We let you collect the full price for the rock and then we sell the rocks that you've sold to you at a wholesale price is how we do the payment side. We can do your school logo, fundraiser logo or even just collegiate rocks for your fundraiser.
